We visited friends in cleveland, OH. Our long weekend was cut short, however, by an untimely illness. Instead of leaving Friday, we left very early Saturday (barely saturday!) and RIck drove while I continued to sleep off the nyquil. We stayed at a charming B&B in burton, OH. Not really having much of a plan, Rick, Alice, Robert, and myself took Robert's & Alice's kids to a nephew's for the day and we headed off for adventure. Robert suggested heading to the Erie Islands, which we almost did, but missed the ferry by minutes (the next one wouldn't be for another 2 hours). Hungry, we went in search of food and ended up on the outskirts of Cedar Point, at a cafe on the lake. then we went downtown to the R&R hall of fame... which had closed a half hour before. (that's me in the photo in front of the museum and alice on the phone telling robert not to bother parking). We then took a colorful tour of the city in the back seat of robert's enormous SUV.
It was great to see good friends for almost a long weekend, almost go to the erie islands, almost go to cedar point, and almost see the rock & roll hall of fame.
Robert's done great work on the house and completely redid the basement, including a beautiful, handmade irish bar (he can make one for you, too! check it out: <http://slaymakerwoodworks.com/index.htm). Tell him we sent you!
