Happy Memorial Day to our friends and family around the world. And a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the men and women serving in our military. We salute you!
The party runs from 4 to 8 PM on May 22nd at the American Swedish Historical Museum on Pattison Avenue in South Philadelphia. Tickets for the launch are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. The price includes food, music, a reading, and museum tour. Proceeds support Philadelphia Stories: a local non-profit literary magazine.
Please consider buying Prompted and, if purchasing from Amazon, do so on May 22nd. A large number of orders in a single day can elevate the book to a best-seller status, which triggers all sorts of good marketing karma. You can also order the book through your local library.
We hope to see you in South Philly on May 22nd. Thanks!!
Quick update on Rosie - it looks like she's finally turned the corner. Her cough has greatly diminished, and she's back to being the happy, funny pup everyone loves. She's even made her triumphant return to daycare. It's great to have our girl Rosie back!
Our girl Rosie has been keeping us busy recently. About one month ago she came down with a case of bronchitis. Two weeks later, "Typhoid Rosie" developed kennel cough. (Yes, there is a bordetella vaccine that she's required to take every six months - but it only limits the symptoms, rather than prevent contracting the illness.)
Her cough, while not as frequent, is now lingering into a third week, so she's headed back to the vet's office today for another exam and chest x-rays to make sure there's nothing else going on.
Poor little girl - it can't be fun coughing for a month. We're hoping she'll beat this soon!
We went to New York City in late April to see a couple of shows and pig out on fantastic vegan food (naturally).
On our first night we caught Lewis Black with John Bowman at New York's City Center. We've seen Lew a number of times over the years, and he never disappoints.
On our final night in town we went to the St. James Theater to see Green Day's American Idiot on Broadway. It's a terrific show that we highly recommend. We had a great time, and got a much-needed Green Day fix while we wait for the U.S. tour to kick off in August.
