Just uploaded a new photo album, with more pictures of how our native plants are coming along.    It's been a fairly wet spring, and the plants seem to be quite pleased!

Just added a new album to our photo gallery:  Fall Colors in Treegantown. 

We took a few pictures around the house today, capturing some of the autumn colors surrounding our little part of the world.  Figured we'd better take some pictures now, while most of the leaves are still on the trees.  Pretty soon, we'll be hip-deep in 'em!

plumbers and electricians and septic (oh my!)

It was "one of those weeks" at the Treegan house.  What first appeared to be an issue with a drain pump prompted a call to the plumber.  After discovering the pump was fine, we were referred to an electrician. The electrician's visit ended with a second service call by the plumber, who ultimately deferred to the septic guys.

The good news?  There was very little in terms of repairs that were required.  The bad news?  The septic filter which was the source of the issue is something we'll need to clean ourselves once every few months.  And yes, it's almost as disgusting as it sounds.

Looks like we'll be shopping Ebay for a hazmat suit in the near future!

landscaping

The first phase of our landscaping plan was completed last week.  Seven trees and countless plants and shrubs later, we're thrilled with the results. 

Comprised exclusively of native plants, the landscape was designed by Jessie Laurel Benjamin of Taproot Native Design, while the new walkway was implemented by Carl Miller of Stonetree landscaping. 

We can't say enough good things about Jessie and Carl's work. Fantastic to work with, too.  Take a look at the results, and judge for yourself! 

ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes

The long-awaited updates to the property are in full swing. 

It started a couple of weeks ago with the walkway replacement (which looks GREAT), and continues next week with the first phase of our landscape redesign - comprised exclusively of native plants and trees.  It's gonna be very cool!  We'll keep you posted.

Fall came early this year.  It's breezy and 65 degrees, as we bundle up to enjoy our modest new deck furniture.

Blogging on the deck.  Sounds like something a pirate would do.  Yarrrrr!
